Three Levels of Participation

About the SDRSP

The SDRSP is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that informs, communicates, and educates others to make the San Diego Region a more sustainable place to live, work and play. We are a Board-governed organization with four primary committees (click on “Committees,” above).

In addition, we have a Communications Committee that provides support to the Partnership Board and our four primary committees. For a more detailed description of the SDRSP click “About” above.

As a volunteer-based consortium, the San Diego Regional Sustainability Partnership welcomes the support and assistance of those who share its passionate commitment to a more sustainable future for the San Diego region. There are three ways to participate in the Partnership:

1.  As an Organizational Member

Candidates for membership are organizations from one of the following groups:

  • government
  • business
  • non-profit
  • academia
  • trade associations

To apply for membership, simply complete the online Membership Application. Thereafter, an SDRSP representative will contact and provide you with an SDRSP membership agreement. Once the online membership form and agreement have been received, your request will be presented to the SDRSP Board of Directors for review and consideration. You will be promptly notified once the Board reaches a decision. If your request is approved, we strongly encourage new members to designate a representative to volunteer on one of our four primary committees.

Benefits of SDRSP Membership include:

  • Hyperlink listing of your organization on the Members section of our website (www.sdrsp.org).
  • Gaining an active voice in setting Partnership goals to create and maintain a more sustainable region.
  • Receipt of Partnership updates, emails, flyers and other information.
  • Opportunity to participate in and cross-promote Partnership programs, projects and events.
  • Reduced cost to attend Partnership events.
  • Ability to submit case studies for posting on the SDRSP website.
  • Invitation to submit articles for the website and Partnership publications.
  • Direct access to SDRSP leadership.
  • Exclusive use of our logo on your website.

2.  As a Volunteer

If you’re interested to participate in Partnership programs, projects, or events we are looking for talented individuals that are willing to role up their sleeves and make a difference in the community. The time commitment to serve on a committee is generally two hours a month to attend meetings and provide support to conduct two committee forums a year. Forums range from 2-6 hours and focus on education and networking about sustainable topics with others in the region. To participate simply complete the online Volunteer Registration Form.  Thereafter, a Membership Committee representative will contact you and facilitate an introduction to the appropriate SDRSP Committee chair/vice chair. You will also be asked to sign and return a “Volunteer Commitment Statement.”

Benefits of volunteering include:

  • Subscription to the Partnership newsletter.
  • Invitation to Partnership events.
  • Alerts about other sustainability-related events and opportunities.
  • An opportunity to network with other sustainability-minded individuals and organizations.

3. As a Friend of the Partnership
